1984 Porsche 944 Project:

Head Gasket Replacement and Engine Bay Cleanup

In 2016 I made a bold move and bought a 944 to replace my humble Ford Fiesta. Having done an engine swap on the Fiesta along with a few cosmetic adjustments, I felt the best way to learn more about cars was to get an old affordable classic. And I did learn a lot! The images below show my biggest undertaking on the 944 which was a head gasket replacement and engine bay repair and cleanup. Parts were hard to come by so in a few cases I opted to fabricate using the tools at my disposal at Pederen + Lennard. This included Solidworks modelling, tig welding, metal fabrication, pipe bending, CNC milling to name a few
